New AI System Could Simplify Screening for Diabetes, High Blood Pressure

Preliminary research has found that a new system which combines an AI-powered algorithm with high-speed video may simplify screening for type 1 and 2 diabetes as well as high blood pressure. This system promotes no-contact screenings by eliminating the need for blood pressure cuffs, blood tests and other wearable devices. Diabetes and high blood pressure are chronic conditions that are known to mildly alter blood flow in an individual’s hands and face. Research Finds AI is More Trusted for Medical Advice Compared to Doctors

New research from the University of Kansas Life Span Institute has determined that parents who sought medical advice on their child’s health were turning to artificial intelligence more than doctors. For the study, the researchers asked 116 parents aged between 18-65 to rate texts generated by either ChatGPT or an actual doctor, under an expert’s supervision. The researchers found that parents rated texts generated by artificial intelligence as more trustworthy, moral, and credible.
