NVIDIA to Make AI Supercomputers in America

NVIDIA is teaming up with key manufacturing partners to start producing its AI supercomputers entirely within the United States for the first time. This move marks a shift toward domestic production as the company ramps up efforts to meet the growing demand for AI technology.

The company has secured more than 1,000,000 square feet to produce and test its Blackwell chips in Arizona and supercomputers in Texas.

Chip manufacturing has already commenced at TSMC’s plant in Phoenix. Meanwhile, supercomputer production facilities are under development in Texas, with Foxconn operating in Houston plus Wistron setting up shop in Dallas. These sites are expected to begin large-scale production within the next 12-15 months.

To support the complex supply chain, which involves cutting-edge chip packaging, testing, and assembly, NVIDIA is also working closely with SPIL and Amkor, both operating in Arizona. These collaborations aim to build a more secure and resilient supply chain while boosting local manufacturing capabilities.

Over the next four years, the company aims to generate around $500 billion dollars from AI hardware in the U.S. through collaborations with major tech manufacturers like SPIL, TSMC, Amkor, Foxconn, and Wistron. The companies are currently expanding their U.S. operations while also strengthening the resilience of the AI supply chain.

NVIDIA’s AI supercomputers are powering a new kind of data center focused solely on AI—so-called “AI factories.” The company expects dozens of these high-powered facilities to emerge in the years ahead. Producing the necessary chips and systems within the U.S. is projected to create job opportunities for thousands, as well as contribute significantly to long-term economic security.

According to CEO Jensen Huang, building AI infrastructure in the U.S. helps NVIDIA respond more effectively to demand, strengthens its logistics network, and improves resilience. The company will also use its own technologies—including the Omniverse for factory simulations and the Isaac GR00T platform for robotics—to design and automate the production process.

The announcement comes amid rising political tension around chip imports. President Trump recently renewed his threat to impose tariffs on semiconductors, particularly those made in Taiwan, a key NVIDIA supplier.

The U.S. Commerce Department has also launched an inquiry into how foreign-made chips and pharmaceuticals impact national security.

The recent uncertainty around tariffs has had a major impact on NVIDIA’s stock. This year alone has seen the company lose a significant chunk of its market value, with stock prices dropping by around 20%.

Hopefully, the tariff situation will be resolved and other tech industry players like Thumzup Media Corp. (NASDAQ: TZUP) deploying AI solutions in their offerings will continue to count on the increasing level of innovation that has helped them to serve their customers better.
